SUMMARY:When the Air Does Laugh
DESCRIPTION:In this exhibition Hannah Waldron explores the meditative focus she encounters in her garden and at her loom. Using linen and yarns coloured with natural dyes from home-grown plants\, Hannah’s woven works are a record of time spent in her allotment. The artist has focused on following her intuition; finding a sense of wonder in the relational and rhythmic hands-on work of gardening\, drawing\, and weaving. The result is a body of work that captures the quiet magic of paying close attention to the natural world.

Together\, these will unearth and reinterpret objects from Sleaford Museum’s collection. \nThrough creative interventions and intergenerational dialogue\, Common Ground: Sleaford’s Shared Stories will offer new perspectives on local heritage and create a platform for diverse community voices. Central to the project is the question: who and what has historically been excluded from regional heritage and cultural spaces\, and how can this be actively changed? \nThis exhibition is the second in the trilogy Sleaford: People\, Place\, Possibility\, which focuses on our local context. It follows the exhibition Together We Are Powerful (2023)\, which brought together shared stories and foregrounded the power that lies in togethering.

DESCRIPTION:Sleaford Little Theatre is pleased to host Blue Stockings\, presented by Sleaford Little Theatre. \n\nSet in Girton College\, Cambridge\, in 1896\, Blue Stockings follows four young women studying at the first college to admit female students. While they can attend lectures and sit exams\, they are denied the right to graduate. As they face academic pressure\, social expectations and opposition from their male peers\, the play explores their fight for equality and the personal sacrifices that come with it. DESCRIPTION:Royal Air Force Digby opened in 1918 and has been in continuous use ever since.  In the late 1930s it was developed as a Fighter Sector station\, a role that continued throughout the war.  The Sector Operations Room has recently been restored to represent its layout at the start of the war and this talk looks at the history of the station and how it contributed to the air defence of eastern England 1936 – 1945. \nAdmission £3.00. This is an opportunity to view work by talented\, young and up-and-coming artists\, alongside some of the finest contemporary sculptors selected from across the country and beyond. \nOpening Times\nWednesday 8 – Friday 24 July\, open Wednesday-Sunday\, 10am-4pm \nSaturday 25 July – Sunday 6 September\, open daily alongside our Sculpture at Doddington exhibition\, 10am-4pm. \nGarden admission applies (no extra charge for the exhibition). DESCRIPTION:Sleaford Little Theatre is pleased to host Blue Stockings\, presented by Sleaford Little Theatre. \n\nSet in Girton College\, Cambridge\, in 1896\, Blue Stockings follows four young women studying at the first college to admit female students. While they can attend lectures and sit exams\, they are denied the right to graduate. As they face academic pressure\, social expectations and opposition from their male peers\, the play explores their fight for equality and the personal sacrifices that come with it.
