SUMMARY:Common Ground: Sleaford’s Shared Stories
DESCRIPTION:This major new collaboration with Sleaford Museum will explore local heritage through contemporary art and community participation. The project will culminate in new exhibitions presented at both the Hub and Sleaford Museum\, with new artist commissions and residencies shown alongside heritage and historical objects. Together\, these will unearth and reinterpret objects from Sleaford Museum’s collection. \nThrough creative interventions and intergenerational dialogue\, Common Ground: Sleaford’s Shared Stories will offer new perspectives on local heritage and create a platform for diverse community voices. Central to the project is the question: who and what has historically been excluded from regional heritage and cultural spaces\, and how can this be actively changed? \nThis exhibition is the second in the trilogy Sleaford: People\, Place\, Possibility\, which focuses on our local context. It follows the exhibition Together We Are Powerful (2023)\, which brought together shared stories and foregrounded the power that lies in togethering.

DESCRIPTION:What makes the perfect pumpkin? Do you like to find the largest one\, the roundest one or a gnarled one? \n\n\n\nTake your pick of the Doddington Pumpkin Patch this October with thirty different varieties of pumpkins\, squashes and gourds to choose from. \nEnter via the Gatehouse in front of the Elizabethan Hall and follow our spooky walk through the Kitchen Garden to the Pumpkin Patch. \nWellies are essential as it can get muddy. Halloween fancy dress is\, of course\, encouraged. \nFree entry\, pay for what you pick. Prices start from £4 dependent on size. Cash and card payments accepted. \nDogs are not permitted in the Pumpkin Patch but are welcome on leads through the Kitchen Garden and to the Pumpkin Patch gate. \nGolden Bottoms\nKeep an eye out for golden bottoms! We’ll be hiding some golden bottomed pumpkins in the patch throughout October. If you find one you’ll win the pumpkin\, a family ticket to Christmas in the Hall and a 4ft Doddington homegrown Christmas tree so keep your eyes peeled!

Our Autumn Explorers session invites young nature lovers to journey through the diverse\, changing habitats of Wilder Doddington\, discovering the wildlife\, colours and seasonal changes of autumn along the way. \n\n\n\nWe’ll head out on an immersive walk\, keeping our eyes peeled for seasonal surprises\, from fungi emerging across the landscape to the minibeasts and wildlife making their home here. Through playful sensory activities\, children will be encouraged to slow down\, look closely and connect with the natural world around them. \nWe’ll finish by getting creative with nature-inspired autumn art and exploring some of the fascinating ways wildlife prepares for the colder months. \nMeeting point: This will be confirmed in your pre-event email ahead of the session. \nWilder Doddington\, Doddington Estate\, Lincoln LN6 4RU \nMake a day of it and stay for lunch or enjoy refreshing drinks and homemade treats in one of our Cafés after a morning of exploring!
