SUMMARY:Monthly Workshop: Introduction to Plant Identification
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop aimed at those with basic or no botanical knowledge we will find and identify the beautiful wild flowers of Whisby\, learning about their relationships and habitats. \nJoin Sue Fysh\, Senior Community Officer for Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and avid botanist\, for an introduction to the variety of wildflowers found at Whisby Nature Park. \nIn this workshop aimed at those with basic or no botanical knowledge\, you will learn about different groups of wildflowers\, how to find them and how to identify them in the field. You’ll also spend the day learning key identification tips and techniques as well as some background ecology surrounding some of these beautiful natural decorations. \nHot drinks available\, bring your own lunch. \nWhere a workshop is dependent on the weather\, we may have to make changes or\, on rare occasions due to extreme weather\, cancel to ensure the safety of all.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Sleaford 1940s Day event is back in 2026! \nThe event will be brought to you by Sleaford Town Council\, in partnership with the William Alvey School and will be held in the school grounds. \nOn the day\, there will be live music and dancing\, horse carriage rides\, air raid shelter tours\, “Dig for Victory” plant and grow your own vegetables activities for children\, re-enactments\, demonstrations\, static vintage vehicle displays\, Punch and Judy shows\, trade stalls\, food and drink\, vintage hair styling\, face painting\, animals\, vintage games\, bouncy castles\, vintage children’s fair ride and balloon modelling. \nThere will also be a 40s/vintage style best dressed competition in the three categories of best adult\, child and family.
