SUMMARY:2026 NK Walking Festival
DESCRIPTION:The North Kesteven Walking Festival is an annual celebration of the District’s extensive walking trails. \nLast year\, the festival attracted hundreds of participants\, who collectively covered over 200 miles of walking trails. The festival is inclusive of all ages\, abilities\, and fitness levels\, providing a social walking experience that is unparalleled by other events. The festival aligns with North Kesteven District Council’s (NKDC) commitment to physical activity and is an integral part of the Countryside NK partnership with Hill Holt Wood\, a charity and social enterprise. Hill Holt Wood maintains over 130 miles of Stepping Out walks in the region and has been organising the festival since 2018. \nThis year\, join us on over 70 walks that will be dispersed across North Kesteven’s 356 square miles of charming villages\, historic churches\, and vibrant landscapes. \nThe festival relies on the dedication and expertise of volunteer walk leaders\, local businesses\, and partners who collectively make the walking festival a reality. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable contributions and support.

It is held in Rachel’s floral haven; a purpose built studio and flower therapy garden in the walled kitchen garden at Doddington Hall. \nWho is a Floral Retreat for?\nThis is for anyone who would like a bit of peace and respite\, immersed in nature and surrounded by flowers. Those who would like to explore energy work in a grounded earthy way with flowers\, and want to explore their creativity in a gentle\, free way. \nWhat does a Floral Retreat include?\nFlowers have an energy and an ability to heal and transform. They have different ‘personalities’\, each with its own energetic signature. We may be drawn to different flowers at different times depending on our own needs. Finding the space to listen to what they are saying provides scope for creating beautiful personal transformation through connection with flowers and nature. Rachel can teach people how to make beautiful flower arrangements\, but as a Reiki master\, she can also teach them about themselves\, using flowers. \nWe will spend the morning focusing on you and using flowers to gently show you what you need to be listening to. In the afternoon we will make a beautiful arrangement together. There is always joy in creating something beautiful\, but also\, the focus is to be with the flowers\, using botanical creativity to help process what you may have worked through in the morning. Working with the flowers in an intuitive and playful way this is an amazingly powerful and beautiful tool to find some mental space and peace. \nThe Practical Stuff\nThe floral retreat is held in the studio and flower therapy garden which is a purpose built space in the walled kitchen garden at Doddington Hall. \nLunch and refreshments are included as well as all your flowers and a beautiful urn. \nDate: 9 June 2026\, 10am-4.30pm\nInvestment: £165\nMaximum 4 people
