SUMMARY:2026 NK Walking Festival
DESCRIPTION:The North Kesteven Walking Festival is an annual celebration of the District’s extensive walking trails. \nLast year\, the festival attracted hundreds of participants\, who collectively covered over 200 miles of walking trails. The festival is inclusive of all ages\, abilities\, and fitness levels\, providing a social walking experience that is unparalleled by other events. The festival aligns with North Kesteven District Council’s (NKDC) commitment to physical activity and is an integral part of the Countryside NK partnership with Hill Holt Wood\, a charity and social enterprise. Hill Holt Wood maintains over 130 miles of Stepping Out walks in the region and has been organising the festival since 2018. \nThis year\, join us on over 70 walks that will be dispersed across North Kesteven’s 356 square miles of charming villages\, historic churches\, and vibrant landscapes. \nThe festival relies on the dedication and expertise of volunteer walk leaders\, local businesses\, and partners who collectively make the walking festival a reality. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable contributions and support.

DESCRIPTION:The Riverside Guardians of Navigation House are young members of the public who help clean up Sleaford and local areas\, making a real impact to our community. Help us set a good example to others and learn about recycling and keeping our surroundings litter free for us visually and safe for all living things. This contributes to a healthier Ecosystem! \nAs well as the environmental impact\, we believe that litter picking promotes: \n\nPhysical activity & getting outdoors\nCommunity pride & responsibility\nEmpowerment for being actively involved in change\nEducation about the consequences of littering\n\nNavigation House provides all the materials needed\, including grabbing sticks\, gloves bin bags and bag holding hoops and High Viz vests. No booking required\, just pop in! \nUpon return of the equipment\, Riverside Guardians will receive a certificate celebrating their efforts and a small treat as an extra thank you! \nThis opportunity is open to everyone\, but adult supervision is required to ensure safety\, especially around the river. Please ensure children are accompanied by a suitable adult (Parent/Guardian). Maximum group size of 8 at a time due to equipment levels. \nThis equipment is also available for free loan to groups such as Beavers/Cubs/Brownies etc. Please contact Navigation House to arrange this.
