Whisby Work Party
Whisby Nature Park
29 January at 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Need to work off some of those mince pies? Come along and help open up a pond on the edge of a meadow in a normally inaccessible part of the reserve.
Long Pond on Plover Beach has become closed in with willow and birch saplings, preventing free access to the water for many species. We will be using hand tools to open up the edge of one side of the pond for the benefit of birds, reptiles, mammals and plants that frequent this area.
Weather dependant we will have a bonfire to burn the cut material.
Don’t forget to wear sensible outdoor clothing and be sure to book your spot.
Please ensure you are fit and able to undertake this task. Free parking is offered to all volunteers to be confirmed on booking.
Over 18s only.
