The Queen’s Baton Relay
International Bomber Command Centre
10 July at 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Active Lincolnshire and International Bomber Command are proud to welcome the Queen’s Baton Relay on Sun 10 July as part of its visit to Lincolnshire.
They’re hosting an action-packed community event between 3 – 6pm on the day, ahead of the baton’s arrival in Lincoln.
There will be lots of activities to join in with and watch to get everyone into the spirit of the Commonwealth Games. Local youth groups will be running activities for all ages to get involved with. There will also be an opportunity to try out wheelchair basketball, which will be one of the sports taking place during the Birmingham 22 Commonwealth Games.
You can also watch a newly commissioned dance piece inspired by the Commonwealth. Choreographed by Hub Dance Team the dance will feature 30+ local dancers aged from 8 – 60. The event will culminate in the arrival of the baton at IBCC, before it moves to LNER Stadium, and then onto Steep Hill and Lincoln Cathedral.
Come and be part of the celebrations!
