Admire the beautiful sight of irises rising above box-edged parterres to catch the afternoon sun; the effect is enchanting and romantic. This ornamental plant with its popular sword-shaped petals has been grown at Doddington for over thirty years.

Bearded irises have drawn thousands of visitors to our romantic walled West Garden, reorganised in 1900 with the help of experts from Kew Royal Botanic Gardens. During iris season, we open the gardens daily to extend the period of time people can see them as their bloom is quite short.

You can also see the unique collection of Dodsworth Irises grown and cultivated by eminent expert Bryan Dodsworth in our walled Kitchen Garden.

The white wisteria is blooming on the historic walls and the herbaceous borders surrounding the West Garden are popping with peonies, alliums and much more.
