The Technology of War Part IV – Navigation and Air Gunnery.

In April 2022, IBCC lost a dear friend and supporter, Jimmy Tarbox. Jimmy regularly attended lectures at IBCC and in particular the Technology of War series. This lecture is presented in memory of Jimmy by Dave Gilbert, Trustee and Losses Archivist.

Dave continues this ever-popular lecture series with more hands-on, easy to digest explanations of the technology used during World War II. Continuing last year’s theme of looking at the technology used by particular trades, Dave takes a close look at Navigation and Air Gunnery techniques. So, if you thought air gunnery was a simple matter of ‘point and shoot’ or if you’ve ever wondered what Dead Reckoning is, this is the lecture for you. As usual, no technical knowledge is required.

The evening will start with a delicious hot buffet served in the Hub Café and coffee and tea will be available during the evening.
