“Dig for Victory!” – Family Activity Day

Alongside rationing, the Dig for Victory campaign was launched to keep the country fed while the war was fought. Many people, including the Royal family, were encouraged to turn flower beds into vegetable plots. There were even allotments where the IBCC now stands! Even now people are encouraged to become self-sufficient, owning allotments or growing vegetables in gardens across Britain.

Come along to the International Bomber Command Centre’s free Family Activity Day, where there will be crafts and games linked to the WW2 campaign, and mini tours to the IBCC’s own Dig for Victory gardens and reconstructed Anderson shelter. No need to book.
